Today’s blog post comes from Medrio founder and CEO Mike Novotny, who offers a retrospective on Medrio Explore 2019.
Over 150 clinical research professionals convened in Las Vegas for Medrio’s annual conference last week, where we exchanged insight into how to accelerate clinical trials and bring innovation to the next level. Medrio Explore 2019 featured four days of engaging sessions that brought us closer to our shared goal of curing disease and saving lives – and I’m happy to say it was a huge success.
If you weren’t able to attend Medrio Explore 2019, head to our Videos page, where we’ll be uploading recordings of the great conference sessions presented by Medrio customers, staff, and guest speakers. In the meantime, here are some highlights:
Exploring all sides of eSource direct data capture
eSource direct data capture (DDC) was a key focus at Medrio Explore 2019. We got input into how eSource dramatically accelerates timelines and reduces costs. Linear Clinical Research and SOUSEIKAI shared stories of their dozens of successful eSource DDC implementations at their Phase I sites. A Contract Research Organization (CRO) and Medrio customer shared the game-changing impact of eSource on data quality. These presentations reaffirmed our belief that eSource is an essential part of the future of clinical research – and that the most innovative, forward-thinking organizations are investing in it now.
A vision for the future of medicine at Medrio Explore 2019
I picture my son growing up to see a future that has cured all disease, achieving a public health reality that we and our predecessors have only imagined. In my keynote, I discussed how our customers are pursuing this vision, and where Medrio fits in as we push to provide software that accelerates trials and reduces costs by 50%.
Thought leaders from around the world
Medrio Explore 2019 featured lots of exciting sessions focusing on key issues facing the clinical research industry today. Lisa Henderson, Group Content Director of Applied Clinical Trials, discussed key challenges in sponsor-CRO relationships with a panel composed of Medrio customers. In another panel discussion, Medrio customers at organizations in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region discussed important regulatory issues affecting APAC as it becomes a world-leading clinical trial destination.
Training and feedback
Our Product team was also on hand for training sessions so that all of our customers – whether beginners or veteran Medrio users – could take their skills to the next level. We also carved out ample time for our customers to tell us how we can better meet their needs as clinical research becomes more complex.
With Medrio Explore 2019 now behind us, I’m excited to push forward, execute new enhancements to our platform, and see the exciting things our customers achieve in their research over the coming year. I can’t wait for Medrio Explore 2020!
